Project Overview

We made an emergency repair to a leaking 66” diameter raw water line providing water to the main water treatment plant serving more than 450,000 people in the City of Wichita. Before the actual repair could be completed, an emergency bypass system needed to be installed. Crews worked 24 hours a day for seven straight days to get the installation completed.

We worked hand in hand with the city and the engineering partner to place the new bypass into service with no stoppage of water to the WTP. After the bypass was complete, we worked with the city and engineer to find the water leak and repair the pipe. The investigation included tunneling under an existing building to locate the leak and installing a CFRP lining in the pipe.
